November 1st - Only two games took place this weekend. St Patricks Athletic were in the unusual position of still having a chance of gaining a European spot or being relegated ahead of their game with Dundalk. A one-all draw means they're pretty much safe from relegation but their chances of Europe are slimmer too. Dundalk were ahead through Pat Hoban but Robbie Benson equalised for Stephen O'Donnell's side against his old club.

There was no sign of champions Shamrock Rovers taking their foot off the gas as they recorded a two-nil win at Finn Harps. Joey O'Brien and Max Murphy scored the goals in a dress rehearsal of their FAI Cup quarter final later this month. The Hoops are seven points clear at the top now ahead of Wednesday night's trophy presentation. Finn Harps are two points behind Shelbourne with one game to go. The Ballybofey men's last game is at home to Waterford while Ian Morris's side host the champions. It promises to be a dramatic finish.

Three people were fast out of the traps picking up 24 points to open the month - Eoghan Brophy, Fiachra O'Brolachain and Keith Ryan share the lead ahead of the final games. Full details below:

November 9th - Plenty of drama on the final night of the season as Finn Harps completed their version of the great escape. They beat Waterford one-nil thanks to Adam Foley's first half goal. They held on for the win and three points which sees them finish eighth in the table.

Shelbourne were the unlucky losers who now face Longford in the promotion / relegation playoff. They lost two-nil at home to Shamrock Rovers - Jack Byrne and Aaron Greene scored for the champions who remained unbeaten throughout the season, finishing with fifteen wins and three scoreless draws. You can put as many asterisks beside that as you like! To add to Shelbourne's woes they'll be missing Gary Deegan in the play off after he received two yellow cards and a one match suspension.

Dundalk's late season loss of league form continued. They lost two-nil at home to Sligo Rovers. Liam Buckley's side finish fourth and still have a chance of European football next season depending on results in the FAI Cup. Dundalk finished a massive 22 points behind the champions in the end.

Derry City's survival was only confirmed when James Akintunde scored a late equaliser against relegated Cork City at Turners Cross. The final game of the night saw runners up Bohemians come from a goal down to win at St Patricks Athletic. An Andre Wright penalty in the second half earned the points after Danny Grant had cancelled out Jordan Gibson's opener.

Jay Thomas picked up a remarkable 50 points from the games over the last week to win the November competition - that included four ten-pointers! Keith Ryan finished in second place, five points off the lead. Joseph Kavanagh was third with Davy Doyle and Eoghan Brophy completing the top five for November:
