November 3rd - The Premier Division season finished on a high with the final five games producing no less than 25 goals on the final night. The most drama came in Drogheda - the hosts lead by two goals at half time and left Shelbourne's European prospects looking very bleak. However Damien Duff's side scored four-in-a-row in the second half to clinch fourth spot. They'll be relying on a favour from St Patricks Athletic in next week's cup final - if they beat Bohemians then Shelbourne will be playing in the Europa Conference League next season.

Derry City finished in second spot, seven points behind the leaders after they beat the Inchicore side three-nil at the Brandywell. They weren't successful in their attempts to score another goal which would have given them four-in-a-row. Pat Hoban scored twice as Dundalk won five-one at relegated UCD to finish in fifth place. Bohemians had to settle for a disappointing sixth place finish after their great start to the season. They did have the consolation of scoring four-in-a-row without reply against Cork City. The Leesiders will face Waterford in the promotion relegation / playoff next Friday to try and retain their position in the top division.

The final word for the season must go to Stephen Bradley's side though. A night of celebration in Tallaght saw the champions lift the trophy after a four-two win at home to Sligo Rovers. The Hoops had to come from behind to win after falling behind. Appropriately enough though, they scored, you've guessed it, four-in-a-row to claim another victory and finish the season on 72 points. Not bad for a team written off by many in April.

Last season's overall winner, Joseph Kavanagh, came out on top in the sprint finish for the November prize. He scored 31 points on the final night to record a three point victory over Paul Moore. David Doyle and Keith Ryan finished in joint third spot on 30 points. Fourth place was shared by Conor Claxton and Jake Murphy. Full details below:
